thats the way...just look into support section..the updater is foked..so just dell/rename it and start game with /system/l2.exe.

BUT its not solution, cos we will not be able to update this way, its only workaround to get the game rolling.

who needs update now .. there is nomajor update to worry about , when there it will be an major update the updater will work , until then i /care

yesterday, around 11:20 pm updater had had its own update and from this time it hasn't been working, so simple solution :
delete rpg autoupdater from lineage file and start the game with l2.exe in system, no big deal..
