Foundation items

These things are all new to me since I haven't played for a while and didn't keep up with all the new clients. What's the fuss with these foundation items? What bonus do they give, how can you obtain them (craft, drop, etc), do you need only 1 item to be foundation to have the bonus, or you need the entire set? If it's only 1 item, if you have 2 or more foundation items do they "stack"? I hope you understand what I mean, and thanks in advance.

Aw so if you have 1 foundation item and the rest pieces of the set are normal, you won't get the set bonus at all and only the bonus from the found. item? And you aren't getting stat bonuses as well? For example the DC set in that article, you don't get the +2wit modifier? At least that's what i understood.

if you have a normal set you get only the set bonus

if you have a normal set + foundation gloves you get set bonus and gloves bonus (miniature set bonus if u wanna see it like that)

at the most you can have main piece armor and the other 3/4 parts of the set masterwork and you get both set bonus and foundation bonus
