Actually the rule says:
2.1.1 Write for trade only to trade chat 1 time in 1 minute, no more.
That means no trade messages on shout "!" . We will try to keep this at a minimum by giving chat bans. If i'll have time i will invest 1h daily specially to this cause. So take care, the shoutminator is going to strike, and will do it hard : )

Now take my advice and go take a bath if ur in EU zone, then relax watching a movie + sleep. U'll feel better tomorrow if u don't waste time on the forums. I know that's what i'm going to do : P. Way too much tension tonight around here.

Don't be mad at me for closing this one too, there's no need to keep it open. If u feel the need to vent some steam go on to the flame section and do it on ur future enemies : )

It's not ban, it is CHAT ban... for a few hours. You don't like the rule of no trade chat messages in "!" ? Go write your message here: https://forumen.rpg-club.net/?p=sendmsg (btw, there's another BIG server that uses this rule and there are others for sure).

I'm not closing ALL topics, just those that NEED to be closed. If you think that any thread was closed unjustly you are free to write me a pm or contact me on icq and explain to me why it should be reopened.

Those quests might not make it EVER back to donation list so don't hold your breath on it. And for 2nd class you can already "donate", it's a quest that starts in giran blacksmith, npc Daegar, and it costs you 3kk for 2nd class. And anyway, class change quests have been made a LOT easier since gracia chronicle so there's no need for you to skip the start.

i have nothing against trade only on + chat but i KNOW it will LOOK LIKE 30X, it will be flooded like hell

pls dont tell me i am wrong, i know how does it look now on 30x. no matter if its ! or + it will be overflooded with the rule kept this way, whats so hard in not allowing bot shout at all? i think letting ppl to set a shop with oog program is enough, we dont need shouts every 5-10 seconds to see some1 is selling soulshots or mats, all of us know some idiots set such auto shouts. u can debate about it as much as u want but we all know what will be the end effect

its not a matter of servers, its a matter of ppls' mentality, make hard punishment and pp will think twice b4 they try to flood

After creating xxx accounts because of multiple chat bans (in this case), one day, some of the brightest minds among spammers might actually think that setting bot to shout once per minute will get their stuff sold, and cause them less problems, aye ?

No trading in the shout chat (!) is a great idea. That's why you have the + channel. For trades. It also reaches a wider area. I am in 100% agreement with the chat bans for people using the orange chat to trade.

But I do suggest spending at least the first week giving warnings and no bans, since it will take a little getting used to. Maybe some system messages upon login to remind players.

when i played the 30x server which i didnt play for long but w/e
i never had problem with shouts in giran.. even nanaki had more shouts going on 30x was nothing + i dont even read shouts

No you didn't, you went off on a tangent to disprove my agreement of the current rules by showing an example that is completely irrelevant. Why would anyone worry about giving warning to bots? Every character in game should go by the exact same standard of rules.

If one person makes a trade message to shout, bot or real, send a friendly warning. If they persist, they receive a temporary chat ban, the length of which is up to the GM on hand. If the shout trade is made by an automated program in which there is no real person to adhere to the warning, tough luck for them, because botting is not a valid excuse to avoid a chat ban.

if a bot will start using ! whats the point of giving it a warning? isnt it better to simply give him chat ban for 3-4 days instead of giving him warning and wasting time on him?
personally i would go for 1 or 2 days of normal ban instead of chat ban for bot traders abusing rules

Because:

Not everyone uses trade bots. And many people will likely forget and go on the wrong shout channel for a quick trade message, hence the reason for warnings. It takes a little getting used to. This is what I mentioned in the original post, give out warnings in the first week or so until the majority of people stop going on shout to trade items. But then you brought up bots, which have no bearings on this discussion. If someone wants to bot, they have to abide by the same rules and suffer the consequences. And nor should the rules be amended because of bots, and if they cannot be affected by warnings, then they learn the hard way once they come back to their PCs and have a chat ban imposed on them.
