So I know a lot of people play at LAN centers/cafes, roommates and proxy users.

Genocide being predominately from NA, we'll have to use a proxy to connect to the Russian server in order to avoid having 200-300 ping, meaning we'll have 50+ clients on 1 IP.

Now if the GMs ban for having more than 3 clients per 1 IP or even worse, implement an autoban for having more than 3 clients per IP how are all these players going to play?

This needs to be addressed before the server launches because an automated program to detect multiple clients per IP will result in many players not being able to play this server.

If this has already been addressed or is just another "stupid idea" feel free to delete this.

Thanks

please keep ur stupid ideas to urself american.

/delete

only in RUSSIA.

anyway I use a proxy to connect, so does a few people in my clan. didn't run into any problems or nothing. best solution would be locating the server in the USA or somewhere closer to the entire world

Nah, it has to do with the "antibot" business that is being worked on.

If they will set it up to only block MAC addresses from having more than 3 clients then everyone will be fine.  But if its going to be IP, we're all screwed.

i was quoting the gm that locked up cj's last thread and im sure he wanted to add the "americans" at the end :D

anyway I guess if what cj is true then needs a fix. honestly playing w/o proxy i got 250 ping and its a pretty horrible gameplay.

i have 2 PCs with the same IP and the same MAC, for me and my bro its not a solution

Bispo

i hope the anti-bot system just verify the mac id, and not "internet ip" :P so the proxy will not be a problem ;p

yea but theres nothing like comcast.

Doesn't proxy just make ping higher not lower? I remember when it was DDOS attack's on all servers including RPG we had to connect over proxy to server and it was giving really high ping.

Yes i know, but back then there was a list given by Gm's what proxies to use and those that were given had over 400 ping.

About MAC...
1st problem...MAC adress is throwed away on the first router. (in other words is replaced by the MAC adress of the router)
2nd problem...there is no garantion that its unique

like i said i have 2 PCs with the same MAC address

So basically an automated program to prevent multiple accounts per IP/MAC address will only result in blocking many legit players from being able to play.

BadDude

thats why its not a solution

congratz

only solution is something like kasha-loader (http://www.kasha-malaga.es/) or azuregaming protection, but there is no solution for more pc's (only ingame checking, but try to check 2k+ ppl)
