There are two Russian clan was announced,as well,another clans or teams was announced on russian forum...Some of our clans are in formation progress or don't  wish to represent itself before starting,  ;D

Surprise buttsecs?
Pretty sure those aren't the only clans being quiet, they should grow some ballz and announce themselves.

What will it give for them?If the clan don't want recruit a new members or discussion about politic before server starting it will give nothing for them.
Who's ballz are stronger we will know after starting.

U.C.C

It will tell administration that they need to have better hardware to support all the players.

If everyone stays quiet, going to have hardware for 2k players and 3k+ will start at launch.

Not fun to lag/dc for a week straight.

Don't know what to say, someone who knows more about this, pls tell us, will this hardware fare well with 2-3k players?

Edit: Just a wild guess, compared it to the hardware of an ex server i played and it's not too different. That server lagged badly with 2.2-2.3k on. So, am i right in assuming we will have smooth gameplay with 2k max on?  :'(

yaw85

Machine is not all, but this setup they given is not bad, last server i played on had only 2xdualcore processor and 16GB of ram, and it wasnt laggy at all with 2k ppl online.

No one will not change hardware configuration before starting becouse no one precisely doesn't  know what online will be on server.

Its not Harware specs, its just platform with cpus info.. its the same as:
q: "what car you are driving?"
a: "Yellow, 1.8L petrol"

EDIT:

For handle ~3.5k ppls in peak times/Castle sieges/teritory wars withot lags, you need:

72gb rams.
2x ~70GB HDD, 15000 rpm.
2x Quadcore or 4x Dualcore cpus, with minimum 1.6GHz

So its gona be bigest fail waited so long, if you guys didnt upgrade hardware..

Since arion server have 32Gb 667MHz FBD (8x4Gb dual rank DIMMs) then well, none server is capable of handling 3kk people ? Enlighten us which server has 72GB so we can forward people there to enjoy lag free gameplay.
Although i must admit that arion server has good harddrives vs none info about rpgclub.

CommunismFTW

Since we're talking about that server, this is how they announced the server specs:
QuoteDell PowerEdge 2950
    * Specifications:
    * 2 x Quad-Core Xeon (X5450) 3.0GHz
    * 32Gb 667MHz FBD (8x4Gb dual rank DIMMs)
    * 5 x 450Gb SAS 15k 3.5 Hot Plug Hard Drives
    * Chassis 3.5HDD x6 Backplane
    * PERC6/iR
    * DRAC5 Card
    * Riser with PCI Express Support
    * TCP/IP Offload Engine 2P
    * 16X DVD+/-RW Drive with SATA Cab

Can we get something like that here? There's lots of info missing from that post Alice. I know that info is what the admin gave u, but can you please tell him to be more specific? Thank you very much.

One of the best harware have biggest lithuanian l2 server from all known servers to me. And still it lags/freezes with 3.5k ppls online via cs times.
For 100 ppls you need around 1.8GB of RAM's when its cs/tw/. so count it yourself. And to not have item lags with 3.5k online you need HDD's with 12000rpm.

lmao 2-3k.
u'll have like 1k on counter which means max 500 =D with super antibot feature.
even 30x never had mroe than 1500 imho(user object,not the count on the webpage).

penom

cant wait to see u all QQing about the lag and ima say: i told u niggars i told u!!

Nah first week will still lag with good hardware. Too many players in the same zone is gonna cause lag anyway. (Unless that was somehow fixed?)
if u get lag bcuz of too many ppl in 1 area - its ur connection fail, for server it doesnt matter if there is 500ppl in same location or if they spread all over the map and do completely the same things...
Clueless much?
500 in same location would mean server would have to hand you the location of all the players whos close to you while it wouldnt if you were far apart.

Comprende?

Great, shit hardware... for what could have been one of the biggest server.

get 4 slc ssd's, raid0, plx
edit: nvm the ram... your hdds still wont have enough iops to prevent ss lag though

else 3k players quit and you're left with 1k.
Since people I don't know keep pming me:

SSD raids haha... like thats needed... you know theyr like 250gb max and theyr not very cheap, also l2 has been running great since fucking ages on NCSofts servers and they didnt have SSD 6 years ago fo sho.

Are you retarded? I doubt L2 needs much space.

I'm full aware that SSDs aren't cost efficient atm, be they flash or ram based, but 2 slc ssds is roughly the sustained write speed of 1.6x as many traditional drives, and the random iops of what, 10+? drives in raid. iops are what matters here.

two traditional drives in raid is pathetic (for a server, especially if it expects a lot of traffic), not as bad if it's 15k rpm, but still.

yes, four SSD in raid is overkill, so sue me. but my point stands, the current setup sucks.

I don't know where rpg went wrong, but I know that: the ram looks unusually slow, and hdd is always the biggest bottleneck.

I don't know about their net, but in packed town/siege, each person can use around 30kb/s bandwidth (per person!! that's with like 300 ish people, or at least, a packed aerith giran). That many people in one place at a siege will assrape the server's net, since it has to send all the player infos to each player in the area.

You doubt and i know, im winning this discussion you fucking brainless fucktard.

Even a random scrub l2j servers database can hit 500gb+... that'd be 3-4 size XL intel X25-M SSD discs ffs... and then you have to raid them ofc... bom another four... lol.
