Hello, I currently have a very weak PC and whenever I try to run 2 instances of "l2.exe" one of them makes a critical error, It pisses me off that many players have very good PC and can load up to 3 boxes in game to help themselves and I cannot. Is there a client with low level of graphic that could be used for buffing purposes only (No auto attack option) Kind of like a bot but that would be legal just so people with weak PC can have 3 clients running also. I've tried even on minimal detail with no texture filter no sound no effects and smallest npc size, and when I load 2nd normal L2 it crashes. Cannot even stay in game long enough to make a trade between 2 characters.

Is there a solution to this, exept using illegal bots?

Udunnome

if you want to make a trade between 2 characters than just log one of them in town on rpg-bot and the other on normal client.

did u try using really low details + uncheck "Texture Filter" and make the window like 500x500. (in my last server i was 5boxing and i had all the buffers like that)

Double check before you say something. They fixed it recently, was even in the news.

Did you by any chance download some custom files which might have boosted up the CacheSize used for L2? If this value is raised too high, it often results into critical errors on the box that is opened which can't be handled anymore. In that case you'd have to lower this value or perhaps increase your page file size.

Try to increase pagefile size. In your case fulllscreen no-frame mode maybe can help.

Dude just use old trick .. Log 1 char .. Go to some place around village but ofc somewhere where people won't come xD .. And drop all items and you got 6-7 mins to pick up it! Good luck :D

Mikko

You guys seem to forget that the MAIN purpose of this was to have a buffer on follow, I don't want BD+SWS+WC+OL... just one single buffer, and my computer cannot handle it, I just added "Can't stay in game long enough to trade between 2 chars" to set the pace at which I was getting criticals. I can stay around 10 min at max, I buff myself, switch to other char, boom critical. I have to reload L2 each time (and believe me on my computer it's a pain) Of course I could take the advice of this guy, get a job buy new pc in 2-3 months, i'm actually working on that but by that time I'll be long way behind other ppl that 4boxes, I know 3 box is max but I see many ppl in SV having 3-4 ppl on autofollow, wont name em but eh..

So I've read all your replies and I'm wondering how do I increase page file... To answer one of the question asked in t his thread no, I have a perfectly clean freshly updated client and I didnt even modify the system messages file. I've ran across some threads in the forum that talk about UBUNTU client or whatever, is this some kind of non graphic client?

I'll try running boxes in very small windows, for NoFrame i just run l2.exe using --noframe option? Meh, i'll try to find something that works, your help is appreciated so far.

Udunnome

increasing page file is not the best solution all the time.Ubuntu is an OS like Windows,it's not a l2 client.best solution to your problem is to get more RAM memory.you are probably running out of RAM memory when you open second client,so instead of increasing page file i suggest go buy at least 512 MB of whatever type of RAM you have(just make sure your motherboard can handle it and check the maximum amount of RAM supported by each channel),why? cause RAM memory is cheap and you can never have enough of it :p

AIDS

random access memory (RAM) memory. + weak motherboards with all memory slots filled up = mucho bluescreens if u dont increase memory controler voltage and in some cases northbridge voltage.

dont recommend hardware without even knowing what he has in his computer.

@ OP: i sugest u do some research before u spend money on upgrades so u dont end up getting hardware u cant use with ur system.

Well some people have to feed their families pay bills etc... not every one gets taken care by their mommy and daddy.

Sucks to be you if you can't save up 200e/month for a PC that you will use every day.
600e is enough to make this game run 80 fps with full graphics on non populated areas.
My PC was 750 (including 23" HD monitor) and that's what I can do :) + my PC isn't brand new. OR make a payment plan and you will only have to pay like 50e/month. I'm sure you can manage that and so can the OP

Should I buy some RAM or just increase page file or try to do some other tricks?

What you should do is change your damn OS to the 32 bit version, i absolutely don't get WHY people go for the 64 bit ? If you processor runs on 64 it will read the 32 anyway, and it'll run smoother because it uses up less.

My take is change your OS to XP SP2 Professional Edition - 32bit, add 1 GB RAM more, and you should be sipping wine and living the high life...

I got this: http://img233.imageshack.us/f/myos.jpg/, and i run the game smoothly overall, except for mass pvp which my video can't handle that great at the moment. It's all about system management...

Arcain

Wonder where you read that he's using 64 bit OS. It's a XP SP3 with some dell customizations most likely since it seems to be premade PC by Dell. Also, his CPU is preety much a crap, a P4 was so called empty MHz CPU with rather poor performance. Adding some memory and installing a fresh windows should help a big but you can't expect miracles with that setup and current L2.

PS. GPU doesn't have much to do even on sieges, they'll "lag" even if you get dual ATI 5970/GTX580.
