Question (Playing whit macbook pro)

Hi guys.

i got a mb pro, installed bootcamp + windows 7, did all updates + vga updates.

MB Pro especifications: c2d 2.53 ghz, 4gb ram, nvidia 9400M 256MB DDR3

atm im playing l2 on some lol server (renewal) on "massive pvp" (50 vs 50) i have like 15/20 fps, is there any way to optimize the performance?.

i already setted up performance on vga settings + all on low quality in l2 settings.

Any advice?

Things that might improve FPS in L2 are a better CPU and HDD, also modifying l2.ini.
Also 15/20 FPS on 50vs50 isn't so bad for L2.

I have a PC already, it can handle like 150 vs 150 on 30/40 fps. but i dont want to use it.

Macbook pro is small, doesnt need such space as a pc does... thats why im lf advices for increase fps on the macbook pro, and @udunnome on rpg i will need much more fps than that, there wont be any 50 vs 50 anymore lol :p

i go say only what u need, a SSD , and i think dont exist SSD from laptop but to play l2 with 30-40 fps in a massive u need a good hdd. i dont go to explain why coz my english with profesional words isnt good.

I was playing on mb, same as yours for about 1 year, both in GF and in GOD, in GF on big pvps i had around 30-40fps, on GOD 20-30. Only thing that i did with the laptop was changing the factory HDD to 7200rpm one, also i used gamebooster software to turn off all unnecessary processes running. Anyway, i would suggest you to save up money and buy a purely gaming laptop from Alienware ( like i did ) or if you are living in one place, buy a pc, because this particular mb is not suited for gaming, especially for games with decaying engines like L2.

If you haven't already, change this:

Control panel -> Power options -> Change from "Balanced (recommended)" to "High Performance"

It changes not only the sleep settings but also CPU and GPU processor allocations.

I did this and my fps doubled. I also use a macbook pro because I get a massive discount through my job. That being said next month im buying an actual gaming desktop because the macbook is limited when it comes to gaming.

With all these things tbh I have no fps problems even in mass pvp's/sieges.

Game booster is software which basically helps you to turn off all unnecessary processes running while you play the game, as soon as you quit the game, it restores everything back to normal automatically, it is for windows. From what i recall it was freeware but now you have to buy it in order to have full features, but i think you can still find it for free somewhere. Just google it. Sorry I didn't read through all the answers.

Gamebooster is the biggest shit ever. It modify your system, but it barely help to increase your FPS in Lineage 2 (0-2 FPS max?!). Only idiots that buy shit like Tuneup believe that it increase your game performance.

Also getting 30-40 FPS in huge mass PvPs with a 7200 RPM HDD is almost impossible. Just as information:

My System

Intel i7 2600k @ 4,4 GHZ
Maximus Gen V Z77
16 GB DDR3 1866 MHZ
EVGA Geforce 580 GTX OC
2x Samsung 830 120 GB with a HW Raid Controller @ RAID0
4x Western Digital Black Caviar 7200 RPM

All examples tested on L2-Renewal with 100-150 people on screen.

Running Lineage 2 from SSD:

Market + crowded areas: 60-110 FPS
Sieges: 40-90 FPS
Olympiad: 500-690 FPS

Running Lineage 2 from SSD + Models and Textures stored in RAMDISK:

Market + crowded areas: 70-110 FPS
Sieges: couldn't test it
Olympiad: 500-710 FPS

Running Lineage 2 from normal WD HDD:

Market: 15-40 FPS (total lagging while loading models)
Sieges: couldn't test it, actually I don't want to test it

Would like to see a fraps or EVGA Precision screenshots of these people that play on a Laptop and say that they get over 40 FPS in mass pvps (not talking about 9vs9 or 18vs18).

@darkflame i know fps increase alot on ssd and desktop pc's, but as dotpwnz said, its not about best pc to run l2. I said it already, i have a good desktop PC but i dont have such space for that pc, thats why im using a mbpro and im trying to search advices for increase the performance on it.
