Same with the bow I got; not even knowing what I was doing. Also I got a bunch of Moirai helms, boots and gauntlets (both light and heavy) killing around DV and completed both heavy and light vesper sets doing this quest (and got many sigils, shields and other leftovers):

Actually, I doubt MV promised anything to him. MV never makes up deadlines, specially not to halfwits who can't even write an intelligible sentence. I bet he misunderstood something MV said. Either that or he just wants some attention.
