Shafshank Redemption , 21 jump street , Intouchables , John Carter, Seeking Justice , The Hunger Games , The Island , Cube 1st/2nd ( 3rd sux ) , The Cabin in the Woods , The Help , The Lost Room , We bought a Zoo , Chronicle ( epicly good for sci-fi fans ) , Get the Gringo , Safe House , Sherlock Holmes - A Game of Shadow , The Grey , The Raid Redemption + Ip Man trilogy + Shaolin + fearless ( great fight films with chinese martial arts ) , THor , Trespass , Crash , Detachment , Contact , Extremly Loud and Incredibly Close , Grandma's Boy , Immortals , Man on a Ledge , The Prestige ( aka Abra-Kadabra ) , The Raven, Hachiko ,
Sport ones : Million dollar baby, Warrior, Cinderella man, The Fighter ,Moneyball , The Blind Side .

+ bonus . Game of thrones , Breaking bad , kinda nice serials.

Thats the movies i liked tho and had on my HD still so can recco those ones , u've should all find some of those interesting.

most of the people are saying 2012 movies, but if you're up to see some older but great movies, watch those:

The girl with dragon tattoo (2011 american version) - One of the best movies i ever saw, everyone that saw it knows it's really great

The Departed - really great movie also

Inception - completelly genious


I've seen so many excelent movies, but those 3 are the ones i remember the most right now. If you just want to pick 1 of those, i would recomment "the girl with dragon tattoo", it's way better than most movies around.

P.S. - One of the most inspiring movies i saw: Intouchables

Believe me, all 4 movies are worth to see if you like movies that make you think and not only action and special effects (though i love those too)
