Quests and Guides / Shillen Templar Advanced PVP Playguide

Ok so, I've been playing Shillen Templar for the past 4 servers I've played, plus I played it 1 month intensively on Open Beta High Five.

I'll put here all information I gathered and all I learned from playing it. I'll discuss about olympiad 1vs1 only.

Cubics :
Many people think that it's always better to use viper cubic, they are wrong, at this time in RPG-CLUB unless you have a +12 or more Viper Cubic, use Vampire instead. And of course, Phantom and Smart.

Skill overenchant :

Shield Bash +Chance
Touch of Death +Chance
Lightning Strike +Chance
Sheld of Faith +Time
Vengence -Penalty
Ultimate Defence -Penalty
Phantom Cubic +Power
Viper Cubic +Power
Arrest +Chance
Hex +Chance -> Yes, all other skills are more important than hex at this point for oly
Heavy Armor Mastery -Critical Damage

Buffing:

Start by casting pain of shillen or Attack Aura with Blessed Body Soes, if you manage to succeed blessed body trigger on first or second buff, the olympiad manager will fill your entire hp. After that, switch to Mental knife and take Acumen from manager, once mental is triggered use Focus Soes and keep buffing, at 20 second left you should use a macro that does this : Equip shield, Equip Sword, Magical Mirror, Iron Shield, Deflect Arrow. Follow up by taking Haste, Windwalk, Empower and Death Whisper from manager. If you were buffing using DC Set use macro to switch back to heavy and get ready for the fight. Talismans are optional but of course if you use them it's always better, the best ones to use are : Life force, Maximum Clarity, Divine Protection, Speed.

Fights.

vs Any Dagger.
Evasion way too high for you to hit, also, they have counters on evade so don't try to normal hit them, use shield bash, touch of death as starter, when they hide wait 1-2 second then ultimate defence and toggle Guard stance, Judgement + Sting + Shield bash is your main way to kill them, make sure you have a F1 key to /nexttarget, if they run lightningstrike, drain health, bow is pointless. I have yet to lose to a dagger in Oly, Dagger is a very hard class to play in oly but when you know how to play it good can be very deadly. If you fight correctly you should lose only to lucky half kills or severe outgearing.

vs Destros, Tyrant
Thoses are the classes i'm happy to have a reflect talisman in hand I always start with guard stance + Shield of Faith + Ultimate defence to give me close to 7000 pdef, just judgement + hit and if you are lucky to trigger spirit of shillen do it. This should be an easy fight.

vs EE/SE/Bishop/Prophet
Lightning Strike is the key, that is an extremely hard matchup, life force and maximum clarity talisman help alot but sometimes you just can't win, a highly enchanted bow can help.

vs Soulhounds.
Remove all buffs from start, only use shield deflect magic to try to get him to nuke you while it's on, Lightning stirke him and if it lands just go close and try to interrupt his cleanse, Arrest is also good against them but in general, even an outgeared soulhound should have no problem beating Shillen templar, its the worse matchup considering soulhounds are overpowered in this chronicle.

vs Mages
This is the trickiest match, Mages wont hit you when you have shield deflect magic on, they mostly run and wait your UD's to be over then they nuke you, you can try to run and catch then up sometimes, but you will mostly lose your time doing so, I just use an Arcana mace and nuke them, Always start with Anti Magic Armor if you do catch them shield bash, judgement, and normal hits do the job, when they are about to run, either arrest or just nuke more, its a mind trick to get them to come close, Divine protection talisman are specifically good in this matchup. Also, very important to use BRAVERY talisman for -fear. The cubic wont heal fear fast enough to save you if the mage has a good weapon. Overall still, easy match, same applies for OL/WC.

vs Tanks.
Tanks makes long matchup, Lightning Strike is good here, fight should be entirely close range, vs Hell Knight kill panter first, vs paladin you dont need to kill phoenix, it will help you get spirit of shillen, panter cancels and hits harder than phoenix, and HK's have TOD and Insane crusher in h5 which will remove you many buffs. Hex is good here.

vs Archers
Say thanks for easy matchup.

If you wanna add some tips or if i forgot something go ahead and tell me i'll try to make it more complete later. If you are playing shillen templar in this server I want your good advices if you're only wanna be SK and think you know how to play it refrain from posting.

I think I found a bug

I have clan level 8 on test server, with 75k clan reputation, and tanor fortress...

I try to learn Squad skill from the npc in fortress and it does nothing when i click on it.

I have enough rep and i have 30+ blood oaths I tried many things it just doesnt wanna add it.

When I click it closes the clan opened window of "clan info"

Maybe i'm doing something wrong... or its a bug?

I lost all my olympiad points like 4-5 days ago (friday i think) And i didnt recieve any new olympiad points on monday like it should give me.

Ye, I got it, i had spirit ores but couldn't do it on people... then i tried on myself and it worked, didnt remember u can only do it on party members

As title says, Divine Enchanter level 80 Transform from Subclass requires 10 Runestones, I havent found any in server, and no posts about it in 15x either, it has to be a problem with the merge, like x5 server had them and it hasn't been fixed with merge, it should require spirit ores or at least we should be able to buy runestones.

Please fix asap and tell me if i'm wrong about my assumption.

its not +5%, its +5. Fortitude Toggle gives +30 stun resist and paralysis resist, it's not 30%.

+DEX on tank, you're terrible :P

CON increases Stun resistance, gives HP + CP, weight bonus...

I took a level 80 SK and compared stats between -8CON +4 STR +4 DEX to +5STR -3DEX -2CON

Critical Rate : 159 - 153 -> So that's 6 critical difference...
Attack Speed : 447 - 420 -> Wow 27 attack speed more lol.
Speed : 143 - 135 -> That's probably the only notable advantage, 8 Speed difference
Evasion 108 - 105 -> 3 more Evasion... not really worth anything
HP : 3289 - 3911 -> 622 HP Less, big loss.
CP :1973 - 2346 -> 375 CP Less, so VERY CLOSE to 1000 less HP for pvp...

You NEED the CON for Tank, but not enough to go +CON because you do need the STR for critical damage and attack power. IMO -8CON is worse way to set dyes for tanks.

There is MANY people that say that the "Resist Trait" Skill does not work, I understand that you like the bonus on resist stun for an SK but with territory war jewels of Aden and/or Innadrid and the earring from olympiad +20% Stun resist it's pretty good.

In my opinion you should never get Resist Trait.

For having played SK Since the beggining of this server, I will say with no doubt that the 2 most usefull certificates you can get are Warrior Haste and Passive Focus.

There is alot of choice for your 3rd one, many that are good and since "switching" is only 10 millions adenas it's easy to change depending on what you want to do, here's my Top 5 choice for 3rd certificate.

#5 - Resist Element (If you have 60/60/60/60 in your armor set, the additional 5 will cut dmg of ppl with 150 weapon)
#4 - Warrior CP Boost
#3 - Trigger Focus (Only usefull if you want to increase critical from Pole, mostly for trains and/or if you have a very good critical skill EG. Icarus Trident with SA Critical Stun)
#2 - Trigger Celestial (It's usefull when you are doing trains, in oly it's not very usefull and if you have a healer you cannot be healed normally when celestial shield triggers, it also prevents you from using elixirs, so overall, its the first certificate I had, and changed it for Spirit after I realized it wasn't that good. But I would switch it on and off if I do trains at Hellbound)
#1 - Summoner Spirit (Very usefull in oly, for leveling up doing pole aoe and for mass pvp and 9vs9 since you are hitting alot with your normal hits and hope for alot of criticals to win pvp's with SK.)

For emergent abilities I suggest all Physical Attack. But every single option is good.

As for dyes, I suggest in all cases +5 STR with a combination of -CON and -DEX and for the WIT/INT I didn't test +INT yet to see if Lightning Strike would land more or the difference in damage with Drain Health and/or if Vampire Cubic and Debuff from Phantom are affected by the INT but I went +4WIT -4INT because you can buff faster in oly, you cast cubics faster and I don't think the -INT matters this much.

My dyes : +3STR -3DEX +2STR -2CON +4WIT -4INT with IC SET it's a total of +7STR -5DEX -2CON +4WIT -4INT and my Critical rate is still over 350 with FB Masterwork No SA.

Hey, I've been looking all over the net but cannot find any decent info on this...

There's 2 things I wanna know basically, they say you can upgrade a divine transform by leveling another sub of the same type to level 80 and then get a level 2 transform for lets say, divine warrior.

But what I really wanna know is what's the difference between divine warrior lv1 and divine warrior lv2.

I know there's one skill at lv1 that increases patk by 25% for 1 min, does it increases it more at lv2, or does it gain more skills, or is the duration longer, anyone tested this at all here, i really wanna know if anyone got any level 2 ultimate transform and how they work... and ofc if any gm can test it and tell me it would be greatly appreciated, might work a way in retail and differently here, I wouldn't wanna level a sub to 80 for nothing :)

My second question is... I've seen a few videos notably of Hitzer, one of the very good necros at oly in RUS retail I think... And I've seen him use the divine transform in olympiad, I also read forums about people saying that divine enchanter is good for prophecies in oly. I personally never even tested to click on the ultimate transform when in an oly match, but can someone confirm that it works/doesnt work here?

When you use a transformation skills, and you are wearing a polearm, you have in your passives "Polearm multi-attack" but your char is only attacking 1 target... Is this normal, or its a bug? I leveled my sub all the way to 80 to be able to AOE with a pole for 30 min on that 4 hour reuse ultimate transform... and it only hits 1 mob... i'm very sad...

I have many chars I could play...

SK 81 with 10 skills +9, full S, 2 territory jewel and 2 oly jewels and all 81 skills exept deflect magic (enough token for spirit of shillen just need xp)

SWS 81 with vitality +6, Hellbound Dynasty quest level 3 (I can get dynasty recipe from NPC) with Full S

Doombrigner 79 with Rush and True Berzerker enchanted, including +Stun territory jewels and full S

GH 81 with hide and full S

I Play North american times, But I can go in a cp with GMT+2 as long as u play a bit late at night.

No... Thoses Images/Sheets are irrelevant to what I'm posting, it only says the success rate from the previous enchant level, it does not state the rate if skill breaks to get it back to where it was before (which is the point of this post)

I'm assuming the skill breaks everytime because that's the only way to make calculations...

From +9 -> Going +10 : If the skill breaks, you will have 34.5% chance to make +9 again from each Bog (Hence in AVERAGE, you will spend 3 BOG to get the skill back to +9) So the value of the GCM is 2.5x BOG or 2x BOG So it will be less expensive to break a skill using GCM (and keep +9) Than breaking it with normal BOG and going to +0

The whole point of this post is to make people understand that when you use normal bogs past +9 you are taking a risk that is inefficient adena-wise. The maths are there to proove it, you just don't understand maybe :P

34.5% Means it's 1/3, since GCM Price is less than 3 BOG it's where you should start using GCM.
