Same experience. I wonder if its only client side. If it is, there should be some solution...doesnt have to be an easy one of course.

This is the best i can come up with for now.
If you want to earn money, will you create private store at some town or at main trade area? So the question: Will there any crafters/sellers at towns? And if they will, the weak PC's customer probably will have to try more than one town until find any or what they needed.
I daresay they will practically forced to go to FI all the time.

Nevertheless I am for your suggestion. Its not possible to shorten load time or lower bandwidth if you want to go shopping. Market means a lot of people, doesnt matter how you solve that. Of course you can spread the people all over the world and  there will be no market, which doesnt solve anything. If someones connection or HW doesnt fulfil minimal requirements of some game he cant simply play it or he has to count that will be limited in some way.
The important thing is to make the game playable if you do not want to go shopping.

And the last but not least if you will block private craft/stores in towns make excepcions inside of CHs for obvious reasons.

Omg of course not, but do you really thing that anybody has problem with three running trade bots?
And my previous post doesnt implicate what you are saying. I clearly said that one client receives the data only from location where is located. If someone has so low bandwitdh then he naturally cant log in three accounts, there isnt any help for him.  
I hope we are talking about people who need to go throught the towns or buy the things, who have to wait ages than other people and NPCs load, not about ability to login traders.

If youre really talking about clients it eats the same amount of bandwidth, because the server doesnt send you data from 3 differend towns at the same time, only from the one where you actually are.

Michael wasnt talking about bandwidth of server, but bandwidth of some clients.
I have a little weird experience from one server about disconecting in overcrowded Giran. The solution wasnt to pay for faster   internet connection, but to download the NetLimiter and decrease the connection speed to some really ridiculous value like 5kbps and it really worked

I like the idea of dividing shops acording to goods, but to make it really useful you should:

1) Make ONLY ONE place for "one" (group) type of good. No universal places such as MDT.
Reasons:
a)Why its divided if I still have to teleport to more places to find something or to compare the prices.
b)If you make universal place, everybody will use it as the main trade zone and the whole idea is gone.

2) Make these trade zones at SPECIAL PLACES, which are available from EVERY GK for free. You can use the existing ones (for ex. I like the idea of Fantasy Island) or create a new ones at normally unreachable places and dont forget to add WH and Grocery to these places. (these places are usually one huge flat area with one texture = nothing to load for users with slow PCs)
If you do so, it makes also teleporting times shorter, you dont have to wait for GK in towns and so on.

3)If you let it in towns:
a) Use towns which has huge, spacious, well arranged areas close to GK (imagine Giran). I really dont like Dion, where you have to run XY meters from GK. I want to teleport in, see what i need, click it  and teleport out. Only advatage of Dion is it has the nearest Grocery from trade spot. (maybe it was intention, dont know)
b) One of these places should be in Giran. Giran was always the main trade center and maybe some clans were calculating with that fact when they were bidding their CHs.

At last we should realize the NEGATIVES of dividing stores:
a)You cant sell/buy more differend things at the same time (it will lead to creating more chars per person only for sitting at three or four differend places, which also means higher load for server)
b)The magic of markets, when you are just going around the traders and watching if there isnt something interesting without clear itention is gone.

My theory:

There isnt another method how to check  it, than client per IP, but its impractial solution beacause of routers/proxys etc. so they removed it from rules.
But if they were admit it, it would also mean that everyone can log in unlimited number of accounts, which is also very positiv message for botters.

If I am wrong why nobody got a clean answer.

You cant be sure, you are playing at free server with no garantions.

Secondly, you support breaking the user agreement of NCsoft product if you let your clients to join non offical server. Its not a big deal until your income is based on that fact. Still, not my problem I am just curious.

There isnt anything about same IP in server rules. Actually, dont know what does it implicate. There are 4 topics at least with basicly the same problem without any more specific answer.
I would like to know as well which  facts can lead to ban the player.

If you take into account  that you can have logged in unlimited number of trade bots = more than three connections from one IP, it shoudnt be a reason to get  banned.

Also, if you look at server rules there isnt anything about IPs any more.

From my point of view:

Cakes ONLY for Vote Coins or NO Cakes. Many people are starting to you use them in the same way as healing potions...its necessary to have some if you go mobing, not  privilege.

NO radical CHANGES during server existence with final setup.  The rules for all players should stay the same forever. I can accept some changes NOW but not "tomorrow".

Every GM is potential server ruiner. Be very carefull with choosing them. Dont look for a new GM until you really have to.

2 box ONLY...the server has really enough people.

...maybe some of these points are a bit OT so sorry for that

I believe there could be a solution based on MAC, but a bit complicated and not very user friendly.
The loader have to chcek your MAC adress, save it in text form and send it to the database server. There the MAC adress is compared with other adresses in database. If there is more than three same MAC adresses, loader respond something like "You have more than three logged account, if not please change your MAC adress." It could also generate new MAC which isnt in database yet and of course there should by manual how to change MAC or better it could create  a script which do that.

Maybe another solution could be based on something like HW fingerprint....

Its agains the rules, but actually you can (tested not by me).
If admins see 20 or more people connected from one IP, i doubt they banned them. So if you re in this group with 4 or more clients, nobody can do anything about that, I quess

About MAC...
1st problem...MAC adress is throwed away on the first router. (in other words is replaced by the MAC adress of the router)
2nd problem...there is no garantion that its unique

You can play with all ports closed. The one who needs to have the ports opened is the server not you!

Forum je na nove adrese...viz prvni prispevek  prispevek (pres starou adresu se tam dostanete taky) + má nový vzhled.
