I tried it already but it's not possible yet. You can get to server selection screen but get disconnected afterwards.
Admin said they are working on upgrading to Freya retail and the client will soon be supported. But for an exact time, an admin will have to answer.

Edit: yeah, i've ran RPG updater on Freya client and indeed you can connect. But i wouldn't advise you to do use Freya client, there are quite a few zones with modified geodata compared to gracia final, and you will have problems in such zones.
I've also connect to the test event and i couldn't see any of the new npc's or features from freya, except for the debuff in plains of the lizardman. It corectly increased the crit rate while equipped with a bow weapon but the debuff icon was completely missing. I guess there is still a looooot of work to be done until Freya is in any shape or form playable.
Test already have all freya`s NPCs with drop in database, but not in respawn. But they dont have textures if you use rpg .dat files, waiting for fix.
will freya client remove to critical error caused by equip/unequip cloaks?
Most crits with cloacks - low video options in client. (ppl tests)

Also, i could target the "invisible" npc's in the new zones but they didn't had any name and attacking them would just say "X gave 100 damage to None". And they didn't attack back, is that because of the missing AI? If so, how will you build the AI of the new npc's? I know you already have it for npc's up to GF, but what about the new ones? Will they have generic AI or will you test it on retail, to see their behavior and try to do it as close as possible?
And from what i saw, geodata and html are 100% GF at the moment. In my opinion, it's safe to assume Freya won't be ready until next summer ;/. And although Freya is clearly better, as it makes the game a lot less dependent on constant parties, GF is good enough also for a lot of time. So, wish you good luck 'fixing' Freya, take your time on it and make it as good as possible! :-*
Btw its spelt Cloak. Dunno if anyone said that yet.
