I think those 30 second warnings are absolutely way too short of a warning period before the server gets rebooted or taken down. In previous servers I played, usually a 5 or 10 minute warning is given, or sometimes when it needs to get taken down immediately, a 1-minute warning is used.
I think you need to change it to at least a minute, preferably more. It's really, really gay to hear a sudden "EXIT GAME 30 SECONDS" message out of the blue.
2 mins would be enought. But yeah those 30 secs is almost same as doin disconnect instantly...
perfect suggestion
Aren't the planned server restarts at same exact time every day? Or every 4 days, don't know how it's now : ). You know about it 24h in advance since the last planned. But i guess it can be changed if admin believes it's necessary.
Please keep the flames out, i don't want to close it.
U can know it in advance ? Oo
That's why it's called planned : )
Just felt the need to tell the community something, i'll just do it in this thread.
This server is going to be as fun as YOU, the players, will make it out to be. Of course, it depends a lot on how the administration communicates with the players and helps them. BUT, if you, the players, will not even give it a CHANCE even before the server starts then ofc it's destined to have not such a bright future as it might have.
We have the platform on which to evolve and create a beautiful server and a great community, just give it a chance. And don't keep ur expectations at an all time high, your bound to get dissapointed if you do.
Every kick in the arse is a step forward : )
P.S. I'll compile a list of known bugs and try to bring it in the attention of admins. Hopefully we can give you an update on them soon (fixed / soon to be fixed / unable to be fixed).
Michael, maybe you can tell us how much players hardware is capable to support?
Only thing i can give you is my OWN estimate. I believe it will do ok with 2.5k online and start to choke at ~3k. But what matters is that admins already said they will use several machines to improve performance if it will be needed.
about "planned restarts"
some itme ago it was every day at same time, but russians keep exploiting this so they said it will be every 4 days
but then sometimes it is 1 day after another aosmetimes after 6 days
so these planned restarts are random now
Most people probably don't set an alarm to go off minutes before the planned restart, hence the unexpected 30 second warning, even if it does happen at the same time every day. The point is, is it really that hard to put an automated system message a couple of minutes before the reboot?

Seems that's still following a paramater, they should make it 1 or 2 days and randomly configure it to restart 3-5 mins more/less each time.
